Numerical Solution for Transient Scattering by Uniformly Moving Targets
نویسندگان
چکیده
A numerical method for transient electromagnetic scattering by uniformly moving target is proposed. Two reference systems are adopted: one is attached on the radar platform while the other is fixed on the target. Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) method is employed to analyze the scattering in the target system. Lorentz transform is exploited to transfer the electromagnetic fields between the two reference frames. A perfectly conducting sphere is used to examine the method. A simply missile model is calculated using the proposed scheme.

Transient Natural Convection Flow on an Isothermal Vertical Wall at High Prandtl Numbers: Second-Order Approximation
The method of matched asymptotic expansions, which has been used in previous studies of steady natural convection flow, is extended here to transient natural convection flow at high Prandtl number (Pr). Second-order expansion solutions, valid for large Prandtl numbers, are presented for the transient natural convection flow near a vertical surface which undergoes a step change in temperature. T...
متن کاملNumerical Analysis of Transient Heat Transfer in Radial Porous Moving Fin with Temperature Dependent Thermal Properties
In this article, a time dependent partial differential equation is used to model the nonlinear boundary value problem describing heat transfer through a radial porous moving fin with rectangular profile. The study is performed by applying a numerical solver in MATLAB (pdepe), which is a centered finite difference scheme. The thermal conductivity and fin surface emissivity are linearly ...
متن کاملVibration and Stability of Axially Moving Plates by Standard and Spectral Finite Element Methods
Based on classical plate theory, standard and spectral finite element methods are extended for vibration and dynamic stability of axially moving thin plates subjected to in-plane forces. The formulation of the standard method earned through Hamilton’s principle is independent of element type. But for solving numerical examples, an isoparametric quadrilateral element is developed using Lagrange ...

متن کاملA uniformly second order numerical method for the one-dimensional discrete-ordinate transport equation and its diffusion limit with interface
Abstract. In this paper, we study a uniformly second order numerical method for the discreteordinate transport equation in the slab geometry in the diffusive regimes with interfaces. At the interfaces, the scattering coefficients have discontinuities, so suitable interface conditions are needed to define the unique solution. We first approximate the scattering coefficients by piecewise constant...
